How does miraDry Work?
The miraDry delivers precisely controlled energy to the region where the underarm sweat glands reside, and eliminates the sweat glands non-invasively. As the sweat glands do not come back or regenerate after treatment, the results are lasting.
Results are also quite fast—you can expect to see sweat reduction right after miraDry treatment, with minimal to no downtime.
The Procedure
- Ensuring Your Comfort: Local anaesthesia is administered for a comfortable experience
- Setting the Targeted Area: A temporary tattoo is used to accurately mark the skin to prepare for the treatment
- Treatment Proper: Gentle thermal energy is precisely beamed onto various parts of the area with multiple placements of the miraDry handpiece. This targets and eliminates sweat and odor glands—and they do not grow back. This process takes about an hour.
- Recovery Process: There is minimal to no downtime following the procedure, though a mild painkiller may be prescribed for a few days. Some localized soreness and swelling is normal, and gradually clears within a few weeks. You can return to work right after the procedure.
